Before Choosing a Body Shop You Need to Ask These Questions

You don’t need to dread looking for a place to take your vehicle. We’ve got all the tips so you can learn how to choose a quality body shop. Simply ask these questions before turning over any work to them.

What Certifications Do Your Technicians Have?

You want a shop that employs certified techs. The broad certifications include ASP, ASE and Delco, but you’ll also find some that are manufacturer specific. At Spectrum Collision, we employ many manufacturer-certified techs that are trained to work on brands include Porsche, Tesla and BMW! There’s also continuing education for mechanics as well. You want someone with numerous qualifications working on your precious investment. Just like you would make sure your doctor’s been to medical school; don’t be ashamed to ask for qualifications from your body shop.

Do You Belong To Any Associations?

Body shops might be members of parts and service associations like AAA, NAPA, Parts Plus or TechNet. There are also manufacturer associations they might be a member of. To join these groups, the company must meet strict qualifications, so you know they do high-quality work.

What Past Work Have You Done?

It’s okay to ask a body shop to view photos of previous work. If they are proud of the work they do, they won’t mind providing this information to you.

How Much Will it Cost?

While this should never be your deciding factor, it might help you choose between two shops with similar qualifications and excellent references. Just keep in mind that shops that seem to charge far less than others are often doing poor work. You don’t want to go to someone unreliable because there might be dangerous consequences to the work they perform. Cheaper collision centers may use lower quality parts/paints that won’t stand the test of time.

In the End…

When you are looking for car body shops in Orange County, CA, you know you can trust the techs at Spectrum Collision. We only employ educated and customer-service oriented service providers, so you can have peace of mind. Once you visit us, you’ll no longer need to search for body shops near you in Southern California. We look forward to seeing you soon.
